Well I stepped back on the scales and I am back to 190lbs, which is a 10lb loss since I started and 5lbs to go to my initial target, hence Hawaii Five-O, so that was my first train of thought for a song …
… However 185lbs is only the start of the process for me since my ultimate target is 171 lbs or thereabouts. I am happy being anywhere between 171 and 185lbs. It has been my weight for my entire adult life.
So then I had to think of a song for this week that you can all sing and then it came through that Jodie Whittaker is going to be the 13th Doctor Who. Hmm, am I upset, challenged or happy about it? Well I did know Kris Marshal was in the running for the role and I know he would have been good at it, but I was also aware the BBC had wanted to ensure the next Doctor was not just another white male!
I suppose some of this goes back to what we expect as individuals. What do we expect our bodies to look like? What do we think we should weigh? What are we constantly being told? What should Doctor Who be really like?
So congratulations to Jodie Whittaker and especially for you I have chosen, Woman by John Lennon:
Woman, I can hardly express,
My mixed emotion at my thoughtlessness,
After all I'm forever in your debt,
And woman, I will try to express,
My inner feelings and thankfulness,
For showing me the meaning of success,
Ooh, well, well,
Ooh, well, well,
Woman, I know you understand
The little child inside the man,
Please remember my life is in your hands,
And, woman, hold me close to your heart,
However distant don't keep us apart,
After all it is written in the stars,
Ooh, well, well,
Ooh, well, well,
Woman, please let me explain,
I never meant to cause you sorrow or pain,
So let me tell you again and again and again,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah).
I will continue to love Doctor Who and will continue to love each of you as you continue to strive for whatever tickles your fancy.
Good luck!
