Hi ladyv1984

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Welcome ladyv1984. This is a great site. Excellent advice from Jiminycricket cricket too. You can do it! Lots of time until September.

Hi,

First of I wish you every success for when you start your Ivf.

You can do this, take it one day at a time.

Stick to your calorie allowance, drink lots of water, and if your able Walk

Just think what is possible if you reduce you bmi

I have only just started on this site this week, but the support and encouragement is brilliant.

Have a look at the 12 week NHS plan it looks really good 😊

Good luck ☘️☘️

My fingers are crossed for you

Why don't you try the 12-week plan? If you start right now it'll take you exactly through to September. I know its really disheartening when you've tried lots of different diets, but I really liked the 12-week plan because its so sensible and logical and not faddy at all. You've got a brilliant motivation - the best in the world - so go for it! Its only 12 weeks after all!

(PS make sure you use the BMI calculator to get your personal calorie allowance - its probably higher than you think - and if you eat within the range, you'll lose weight without getting hungry)

Hi ladyv1984 welcome to the forum I fully understand with you as I am also losing weight for the ivf. I was really close to my target and thought I would miss it and have just reached it one week before my appointment which is supposed to be this week and I had another problem with my husband not arranging one of his appts early enough and his appt is in two weeks so I have had to change my appt for it anyway but at least I know I will have lost even more weight by then. I also want to inform you that when I first joined I wasn't losing any weight and found out that if you don't eat between the amounts the bmi calculator tells you to have to lose weight then your body thinks you are starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so means you don't lose weight and sometimes put weight on instead. Please don't make this mistake as it will cause you problems you don't need. Good luck with your journey. All the best with ivf too. 🤞😘

Hi @ladyv1984

It is great to hear that you are about to start your IVF process. Where are you getting your IVF done at? I am not Gaga. I am Emily. I have just completed my first cycle and am about to get my scan soon.

I think you should look at the 12 week plan put up by NHS. I don't know where you can find it. However, I have heard some women had success with it. I will aslo try to ask some suggestions from the doctors at my clinic in Ukraine.

Good luck slimming down and I will get back to you shortly

Emily
