Newbie ! Can't get back on track :/

Hi

About 1 year ago, i lost almost 3 stone whilst at slimming world. Still had another 2 stone to go though.

Tbh, the classes were pretty boring, so decided to continue at home. I joined zunba classes and the local council gym, but had a really painful bout of plantar faciitis, so everything came to a halt. I'm still a member of the gym , and my foot is loads better, but I still havent got back into the routine, using every excuse under the sun to avoid dieting too. I've put about 1/2 stone back on , and i'm eating more than ever.

Has anyone ever felt like this, and mangaed to get back into the swing of things ?

Hi Dhlds and well done for losing that 3 stone... absolutely brilliant.

Yes, you've put on half a stone but don't let that define your next steps. You'll be glad to know that there are plenty of people here that have 'rebooted' / kick started their healthy living again.

An administrator will shortly supply you with information on how you can move forward and how you can use this site to your advantage.

A couple of things they will point out are the weekly weigh-ins (you could start today and join the Wednesday Wobble Warriors :) healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... )

and the Daily Diary, where you commit to what you are going to eat tomorrow and pick up great ideas from what others are eating

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

There's more but those are a few appetisers (excuse the pun :) )

No one here is ever judgmental, only supportive.

Good luck!

Hi and welcome, Dhlds :)

I've been in the same boats numerous times, but it's different this time and I have this community to thank for that. I'm sure we will make the difference for you too :)

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.

Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.

To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.

Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.

It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey :)

I fall off the wagon frequently Dhlds but somehow seem to clamber back on eventually. For me it's the fear of being back to where I was when I started 😕

The important thing is that you are here now and tackling that pesky half stone before it get any more. So well done for that 😀 Have a good read of the links Moreless suggested and please ask if you have any questions 😀

Think we have all been there. Lost and then put on and felt yucky. I am only new but after reading so many inspiring stories I hope that I will one day be one of them. Like anna61 writes read these stories and know there is heaps of support and no judgement out there.

Abso bloody lutely !!!! Mire times than I’ve got fingers and toes ..... And every time I think “ I can’t do it, I can’t do it this time “ and from the bowels of hell I find it, that elusive x factor that gets me on my way, again....... to be honest I don’t know what it is that does it, it really is that hard to pin down, that moment I mean.... I feel for you very much as until it does kick in, you feel as if you’re in no mans land don’t you... I can tell you what doesn’t help - being unkind to yourself... instead do something that makes you feel good, like getting your hair done, that can help you feel good, thereby more positive which may nudge over into th3 right frame of mind to get back up on that wagon ..... all the very best from a fellow multi wagon getter upper ...xxxx
