Some scales don't like being moved, so if you can try to keep them in the same place, and on a hard level surface (not carpet)
But they will all vary somewhat. I prefer digital, they cost around £20. I also go to Boots about 3/4 times a year and check my body fat %
All weighing scales are usually the same. I bought some digital scales from Sainsbury's but always double check using Boots and, soon, Slimming World.
thanks for the advice- ive had mine for years and I've just weighed myself and then weighed myself holding an item of a set weight and it didnt add up so im guessing it really is time to get some new scales!
I use a digital set I bought from an online retailer. Upstairs they kept giving different readings, but once I took them downstairs onto the tiled floor the readings were consistent. I also asked the doctor to weight me and was only 0.4 of a kilo out.
If they aren't perfectly flat they won't give out a true reading, even if they are a brilliant set. The force of gravity won't be perpendicular to them and some of your weight will be sliding off the side. Depending on where you are stood on the plate this sliding weight will be different every time. A known weight will do the same thing.
