Hello all! Been to the GP this morning and he has prescribed Orlistat. I had is many many years ago and remember the orangey goodness that was produced so I am slightly apprehensive about starting it.

Anybody had great success with it? Would love to hear some stories to help encourage me to take it ha ha ha

Morning hun. I have never taken a diet aid supplement and probably never will, but my advice to you is that only you know what will help you kickstart your wanted weightloss. The fact that you have gone to the GP is testament to your wish to reduce your weight, so a big thimbs up and clap on your back for that.. I started last month on the weight reducing path ( after years and years of up and down, up and down) My target is 100lbs. I have made the decision not to weigh for a couple of months though and just let my clothes be my scale so I am not disheartened and give up again.

However you are planning to aid your loss, good luck 😊

Thank you :) I know! I never really wanted to take tablets but as my diet as improved over the years since I previously took it I thought I would give it another go to give me a boost. I think that's a really good idea not to weight for a few months. I wouldn't be able to resist!! But I do think it is unhealthy to weigh daily or weekly but unfortunately I have reached the point where it is a weekly ritual. Hopefully when I have lost a bit more weight I can ignore the scales and just follow my clothing and fitness levels instead :) xx keep up the good work xx

I was prescribed Orlistat years ago, was told to lose 7lbs before going on it which I did and realised I didn't need to take it after all. So glad I didn't, I may not have lost all the weight since then but the thought of the side effects etc made me think twice about it.

Recently I cut out added sugar and processed foods and lost 11lbs over the last 3 month, not a lot but I've not felt once that I've been on a diet and my diabetes blood glucose are now just about in the normal range :)
