Hi Foxglove69

Have you checked the nhs bmi calculator to make sure you are eating the right amount of calories?

You could join the daily diary, there you will get the help and support of the community and also some great recipe ideas.

I found staying active on the forum helps, and weighing in each week made me more determined

Good luck

It never hurts to go back to basics, have a re-read of your welcome message and try the DD as Katmt suggests 😊

Good luck

Hi foxgloved66, Big Hugs! Please try not to feel too down on yourself, just try (I know it is hard) to reframe it and congratulate yourself of not giving up. It is all too easy to think well it doesn't work, I am giving up, but you have not done that. You have thought, okay, lets go back to the start. Personally, I think that sort of attitude is an achievement in itself Kath x

Well done Foxglove for sticking to it, that is the right attitude to have and will get you far. It is really annoying when your trying and nothing happens. Just do as others have said, re check your calorie allowance, come and join us on the Daily Diary, you'll get lots of support, possibly look at the carbs you are consuming.

What ever you do don't feel a failure, your not, you only fail when you give in completely. You can do it :)

Hi Foxglove69 don't give up! I've had a very up and down experience, but sticking with it is the answer, you'll get there! I think it's a really good idea to check whether you really are sticking to the right amounts, portion sizes. For me I know my moments of not doing well are because I haven't actually followed what I"m meant to be doing - it's my own inconsistency. In a way that's helpful, because it's very clear what i have to do to make a success of it... If you're sure that for the last 4 weeks you've stuck to the plan then it raises other questions, which people more experienced on here might be able to help you with, such as ensuring you've got your calorie allowance correct, and also incorporating exercise (but not then compensating with more food!)

Anyway, I really hope you continue to feel determined, and I am sure you will start to see positive results. Well done!

Just to let you know the reason you should do your NHS bmi calculator calories correct is because when I first joined I was eating less calories than in between the two amounts recommended by this and I wasn't losing weight and had never lost weight on any other diets. I found out on here that this was why I never lost weight because you are given these two amounts to lose weight because any less and your body thinks you are starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat to ensure it can continue and this weighs more than the extra calories would so it stops you from losing weight and occasionally means you will put weight on. Hope this helps and good luck with your journey.

I know that feeling. I have gone back to writing a daily diary to see if I can get moving. I thought weight loss was going to be easier once I retired from irregular eating patterns but I have found the reverse true. Stick at it I will and WE will lose weight
