I'm back!

Hi everyone,

It's been a while but I have been writing my book and have decided that I do need support after all. I have started running regularly with my friend who's been great but it's good to check in with people going through similar things. So for those of you who don't know me. I started my journey in January with roughly 6 1/2 stone to loose. I haven't lost much of it yet (1 stone in total) but have been writing a book documenting the struggles and processes we go through as overweight ladies. I have written an amazing 27,000 words which I never thought would happen and it has been eye opening to say the least. So having learnt some important lessons and established some regular exercise and a good attitude I am ready to take the food part more seriously. I have always maintained that we should be able to eat normally if only we can get good habits around food and accept that weight loss will only work long term through just that so I am not concerned with loosing it fast.

It will be good to talk to others who are trying to develop good long lasting habits too as starting is the hardest part. My main problem is binging in the evenings and firstly I have replaced it with a healthier habit of binging on better foods! Then hopefully I will slowly reduce it to not binging at all! Hard isn't it.

I saw a video of myself the other day which really did shock me back into taking this seriously! I was 3 times bigger than I remembered!

Well hope to get to know some of you on here. I may be here a while!

    I've changed your badge to reflect your weight loss to date, but I'm going to give you the newbie information, as we've had some changes, since you were last here.

    My advice, as always, is to join in with everything, as that's how we find the motivation and inspiration, to keep going :)

    Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.

    Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.

    Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.

    We run a weigh-in every day of the week and you'd be very welcome to join one of them. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the HOME page, bottom on a mobile.

    We also run a Daily Diary, where we share our meal and exercise plans for the day. It's a great place to get ideas and to keep us focused. The link can also be found in Events.

    Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.

    We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
