It's been a lovely weekend, but I have been working my little cotton running socks off! After clearing out and cleaning the gym end of the garage yesterday, I started off my morning (after the requisite 3 cups of tea in bed) with an hour of exercise in my gym - stretches, sit ups, resistance bands, 100 steps on the stepper and 20 minutes on the treadmill. I used to do at least 3 x that, but as I've not been exercising for a while, I thought I shoudn't overdo it.
Then went into the garden and mowed the lawn (petrol mower, but quite hard work none the less!) and then went on to cut the very overgrown "meadow" area at the top of the garden - its first cut this year. That was EXHAUSTING! It was about 8 -10 inches long. After mowing, I raked it all and then went over it again with the hover mower (there's a steep bank all the way around).
All this before eating ANYTHING! I just got "into the zone" as it were! Drank water and cups of tea. About 4pm, ate a very late lunch of half a ham sandwich and some vegetable crisps.
Dinner was an Aldi sirloin steak (with a Dijon mustard and horseradish butter), roast potatoes, home grown leeks pan friend in oil and butter and mashed swede and carrot. I think I earned that.
AND
I have done over 10,000 steps! That is amazing, as usually it's about 2 - 3,000 in a normal day. I've earned about 250 calories for the exercise, but my body feels very "worked out".
Anyone else been enjoying their garden today?
