Slight disappointment

No weight loss this week! End of my second week so a bit disappointed.

Bit short on exercise due to work committments but, I have logged everything & my calorie intake has been about 1850 which is about half way between my minimum & maximum recommended intake.

Should I reduce or increase my calories this week?

I don't count calories but my guess would be reduce it a bit so you have a deficit. People need to know your height and weight to help you really I think.

I am 5ft 9 & weigh 13st 13.

Are you following any particular diet Ella?

Hi I put those figures into the NHS bmi calculator. Now I am not the right person to advise on this as I don't count calories but it looks to me like those are the calories to maintain not lose. I could be wrong.

According to BBC one you need about 2100 to maintain and then 500 calories off that to reduce. That's based on you being a 49 yr old woman with he height and weight you said so I think you may need to reduce a bit.

And I do know if you do exercise don't then eat the extra calories!

Morning dazzle

Maintaining your weight is better than having a gain. Maybe lower your calories a little towards the minimum end of your intake and see how that goes. Have you had a look at the Daily Diary to see what others are eating with the same amount of calories.

Weight can fluctuate quite significantly from day to day... so it may be that although the scales didn't show a loss, you'll see a loss tomorrow or the day after.

I weigh myself every morning (have done for the 5 years I've been losing weight) but I only log my weight once a week (first thing on a Friday morning).

It's better to look at weight loss over a period of time rather than get too hung up over a stay the same.....

Exercise isn't going to have a significant effect on your weight loss - diet plays a much more important role.

Don't allow one "stayed the same" week put you off - you'll see a loss next week for sure, and who knows, it may be a greater loss than you anticipate!
