Morning Sandy-123

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

I had limited mobility when I first started nearly a year ago after 2 total knee replacements so I used walking as my exercise to begin with and that helped.

Come and join in with today's weigh in to record your starting weight, you can find it on the Home page on the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Welcome Sandy-123, this site is great for support and ideas.

I wholeheartedly recommend the daily dairy and recipe sections for ideas on good healthy food ideas. Its a great place to find inspiration for meals.

Everyone on here is supportive and upbuilding, we are all on the same journey after all.

I would highly recommend joining one of the weigh in days too, its nice to share with others how we are doing and helps boost each other along.

Hi Sandy-123 You are very welcome and this is the absolutely right place for you to be if you need encouragement along the way. There will always be someone to help you with advice and even a little cyber hug when you need it. I am known for pom-pom waving, starjumps and bunny hops around the coffee table when someone has achieved a goal. I am doing now for you because you joined the our group of losers on the funnest site ever :D

Have a happy journey with all your fellow travellers down the scales

((hug))

Thank you for your encouraging reply......feel better already x

Hi and welcome Sandy-123

How about swimming, it takes the pressure of the joints and is very good for toning and strengthening, I had a shoulder repair last August and have found swimming fantastic.

Tip, don't think diet think healthy eating, small changes are easier to maintain so take it slowly and one step at a time good luck

Thank you for your reply ........swimming has been mentioned to me before but i have unlimited mobility and getting into/out the pool would be difficult...getting dressed afterwards would leave me absolutely exhausted.....not impossible though. Its difficult because I have to ask someone else to accompany me to assist xx

Hi and welcome to the best place in the world for support and advice.

Read loads of posts as I find so much help by reading other people's stories.

I think most of us have lost weight before and then put it all back on (and more) as soon as we have stopped the diet.

This is based on a healthy eating life style and I think that will make all the difference as the number of maintainers on this forum proves.
