Week 4 done and dusted.

Well, one more week to the big transition from work to home, so looking forward to it.

As for the plan, it's continuing to go well, enthusiasm is still high and I am starting to 'see' results with my own eyes in the way my body shape is changing. Seems I am losing weight from the top down, just hope my head doesn't shrink!

Highlights of the week;

1. Stayed on target.

2. A colleague noticed my weight loss.

3. Started using MyFitnessPal to track calories, sooo much easier.

4. MFP had a slightly lower daily cal limit, which I decided to stick with rather than change, it was 150 cal lower, but it all adds up.

5. Had a measure up this morning, another inch lost off my chest and an inch off my belly.

All in all a positive week, roll on week 5.

Nice one Stevo.

As for the head shrinking, that's how it happened for me. I even posted at one point, that it could vanish if it carried on like that (close friends were saying I was getting too skinny and I'd only lost about 5kg at that time... that was hard to take). Of course it didn't and my stubborn gut was the last to go but most of it has now.

Even the 'people noticing stage', I think that was about 4 to 6 weeks for me.

Sounds like you've done really well and you always sound really positive.

I'm teaching granny to suck eggs here but your home is going to be a different environment to your current one, that will have a new set of challenges so all the best.

Maybe now's the time to set up a few plans ahead of going home? You've done so well but as Tiggerr says the different environment will have an effect. Maybe try planning your usual homecoming meal on myfitnesspal to get an idea of where the calories will pile up. Can you ease back in with just a few tweaks - fewer potatoes/bread/ plan something active to celebrate coming home instead of pub/food-centred? Congrats on all the inch loss and the positive comments :)

Thanks Ruth, I've already started working out strategies for the transition, normally I go mad in the fast food/pub food outlets at the airports I go through, but this time I have a plan. My trusty calorie counter is on the phone with me now so I'll keep totting up with that.

Also already started with some meal plans for home so fingers crossed. The socializing will be a big challenge, I'm not a frequent drinker but will have a blow out every now and then so I'll have to be mindful of that. At the end of the day I will still have a life, just need to come up with a balance at home.

Maybe look at calorie cycling as a way to save a few extra calories for socialising. And familiarise yourself with the calories in different drink options :) I find it's better to plan in a little of everything to avoid complete blow outs so it's good to be as realistic as possible.

I've got a spreadsheet started already!

Bit geeky but best to be prepared, also my calorie allowance is pretty good, I could easily stand to cut a chunk out of lunch and dinner and fill it with a cheeky pint!
