you've come to the right place - loads of people here to help you - they have all supported me :)

The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you 😊

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news 😊

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for 😊

Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate 😊

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page 😊

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask 😊

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too 😊

The cat's out of the bag now......

Sorry, couldn't resist! You know the score if you've been here previously, be active on the forum and in the real world, know your daily target, track everything, stick to plan.

Good luck.

Back on the horse!!!!! Yeehhaaa! Do ppl still say yeehaa? As someone who's horse has legs ready to buckle from this most recent remount, I know the challenge of reinventing the same principles to make them feel new. I understand the slip backs and how hard it is. So welcome back and I'm sure you're going to find what you need to get back on track on here! May i suggest joining the daily diary for meal planning, tips on calorie allocation, a bit of fun and accountability, and on occasion a live confessional.

Best of luck!

Good morning Rollow, welcome back. I too am a 'returner' after an absence of 10 months, so I know how it feels. Just a thought to help you, I use the MY FITNESS PAL web site, where you can log your weight, everything you eat and all your exercise etc. It's really easy to use and takes all the pressure off counting calories and working out what you've burned off with exercise. This site works it all out for you, just put in what you've eaten and it keeps track of everything, telling you how much of your daily allowance you have left. You can look things up on it's database BEFORE you consume anything(you'll get a few surprises). Also, mix up what and when you eat, I have had 2 poached eggs and hass avocado this morning for breakfast as I intend going on a long walk in the rain with my dog, so I'll burn it off.

If you are getting hung up about it you'll not focus on the positives, so take the pressure off.

Also another tip, set yourself small goals/baby steps i.e. don't say I have to lose 4 stone or whatever, say I'm going to lose 7lbs, then when you reach that aim to lose another 3lbs totalling 10 lbs which is a dress size down, then the other 4 lbs and voile 1 full stone gone! A lot of this is psychological, so if you can see a goal closer to attainment you are more likely to get there.

You've done exactly the right thing coming back here, no one will judge you, we are all here for support on our journey to shed the flab, so keep checking in for support, help and a some funny posts.

You are NOT on your own.

Have a brilliant week.

Hi Rollow, been there and felt just the same, I used to lie awake at night after eating unhealthy food all day and thinking I need to do something as I felt so horrible in myself. When I had a bad flare up on my arthritis last year I knew I had to do something as the weight wasn't helping with the pains. I got strickt this year, joined Slimming World got the healthy eating in place then joined a gym and work out 4 times a week and do excercises at home too. I feel so good, arthritis has eased and i have so much energy too. I do occassionally have an off day but still carry on the next day as its out my system by then. I work and bring up 2 girls, 13 and 11, on my own, but you have to put yourself first too. You can beat this and be positive, use this site to motivate you and you will get there. Good luck :).
