Help I am having lunch today with my 4 sisters something we have not done for years looking forward to seeing them but, eldest sister in her 80's chose the venue ( fish & chip restaurant!!!!) help. I know there is other things on menu let's hope I can find something not too calorie laden as I have been quite good last 2 weeks .

Don't panic, kbed, if there's nothing else on the menu, remove the batter from the fish and only have a few chips :)

Have a lovely time together and remember that any extra calories, can be compensated for, during the rest of the week :)

Some fish and chip restaurants will fry the fish without using a batter maybe worth asking and could you have peas instead of chips? Anyway it's lovely all 4 of you will have a day together so enjoy it and just eat lightly the rest of it. I have had fish and chips ( just a few ) throughout the past year so you will be ok just have a fab time.

Hi kbed - sorry I wasn't on earlier hope you had a great time with your sisters - pop back and let us know how your food went

hope it went well, but if not then draw a line under it and start afresh tomorrow :)

Hi cracker10 Well being a fish restaurant there was not much choice huge fish, chicken in batter or cheeseburger, seeing as I had not had a cheeseburger for ages I went for that with salad they brought me chips that would feed 3 which I left, three of my sisters had a starter which I declined ( bit of willpower there) it's suprising I felt really full for ages but as we ate at midday by evening I was feeling peckish so had beans on toast I don't have any spread on bread so don't think that was too bad, as you say I will draw a line under it & try to jog it off on my Park Run today. Thankyou.

Glad you had a lovely day :) ooo cheeseburger sounds nice, you've just given me an idea for a meal for this week ;) (I am doing low carbs, so a homemade cheese burger will be ok ;) )

Why not see if they offer children's portions? Also I have had a look on the NHS calorie counter potato fritterx1 is about 138c whoch is a lot less than chips! I had fish & chips from local chippie on Monday which I worked out was 1176 calories so I ate less for breakfast and lunch so I was only just over my daily allowance which was 1500. have a good time with your sisters. Work is havign aTea Party which I am going to and I know from poster they are providing cakes & biscuits I just hope they are providing some sandwiches otherwise it will be an unhealthy lunch. Its at 1-3:30pm and I have to leave at 12:15 so I am in a quandary- do I eat something before I go or do I take the risk! At least my main meal is tonight which is unusual but since its tuna salad with potato salad I can adjustwhat I eat tonight based on what happens this afternoon
