Mind over marathon

Weigh in today did not go in my favour, but I know where I went wrong so that's half the battle. Tuesday saw the 5 month mark till the half marathon πŸ™ˆ so I needed some inspiration.

I watched the BBC one programme 'mind over marathon' where those with mental health issues i.e. Depression, PTSD, etc. train for the London marathon, a couple dropped out due to injuries but they all achieved the gruelling 26.2 miles. What I took out of it though was the way they fought the mental battles, can they do it? Will they fail? What happens if they do fail? And it resonated with me and my weight loss whilst training for the half marathon.

So taking a leaf out of their book, I got out today, music on full blast and pounded the country path. And that's how I'll continue. I'll eat only to fuel my body, I'll sleep to recover, I'll run (or at least brisk walk or jog till I can run) and I'll repeat πŸ’–πŸ’ͺ🏻

Will do Minnie. I've a plan mapped out. First route is 3k, then I have a 5k route, then there's a 7 mile route (approx. 11k) and then I can double that to be half marathon ready πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘Ÿ xxx

Haven't seen you on the daily diary? As you've lost 2 stones, it would be great to have your suggestions..? No pressure!!

My fitbit helped with the 2 stone weight loss. I logged everything I ate and drank so that way I'd know where I was up to. The key for me is to couple my healthy eating habits with exercise which is where I've fallen down over the past few months so I'm getting back into it now.
