I know the feeling. Slopping about in jammys as I work from home has covered a multitude of foody treats...lol

When I started to deliberately eat differently I had 6 stone to lose .....eeeek!

I'm getting where I want to be slowly but surely

Hi Gaynor

I too was shocked to learn I needed to lose three stone according to my BMI. Anyway, as that seemed too daunting I'm doing it my way. My target is to lose two stone and I have mini milestones of half a stone in between. It's really very manageable and achievable in that way.

When the time comes to see about the extra stone, I might either like my achieved weight or I will aim for the next mini milestone. In ten weeks I've lost one stone eight pounds on my own calorie controlled diet.

You can really do this and sometimes it's easier than you think, you just need the will to do it, your own meal planner and it's really handy to keep a food journal and a visual graph so you can see your pounds shedding 😀

Good luck.

Welcome Gaynor, why not spend Sunday planning and preparing your meals and snacks for the week to come then? I know that makes it much easier for me to steer clear of the wrong food.

thanks very much, weighed all my breakfast things and on track for lunch, decided to eat same as family in evening but small portions, feeling really determined.

I've just lost four stone in 8 months, moving from a BMI of 32.8 to 24. I planned meals at the weekend and shop accordingly. I always plan for treats so I don't feel deprived. Good luck. It's hard work but totally worth it!

You can do it! I make sure I prepare all my packed lunches the night before ready for work. I keep telling myself that I must look after myself first. Does wonders for your overall wellbeing too. Good luck x

Hello Gaynor123 and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺

The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺ (Please note if you are using the new HU App these facilities aren't available yet so you may prefer to use the full website version)

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺

Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna
