Sounds completely human and understandable to me. You just need to ease in a bit more as you recover. I've done plenty of shorter 2/3k runs while recovering from bugs, particularly this past winter which was awful. But I'm back up to speed now. Just gradually do shorter runs as and when you can. You can always do a combination of walk and run for the run for life. The main thing is not to get put off and give up altogether! You're doing ace :)

No one's thinking anything like that. There's a woman at our parkrun who goes round with a walking stick and two carers in tow. It takes her twice as long as everyone else but it's amazing to see how she occasionally lifts up her stick and jogs a little. We all do the best we can. Compete with yourself not with others :)

You need to give your body some time to recuperate. I'm sure within a couple of weeks you'll be back to doing the whole run again but you need to take it easy. You're doing great - there's no way I could complete a park run and I'm 21 years younger than you!

Plenty of time, take each day as it comes and stay positive. You can do this. I did the race for life about 6 years ago, couldn't run it all so walked some of the way. Everyone was so encouraging.

Good morning kbed sounds like your a young 67.. Well done for taking running up.

Please don't under estimate the power of the body to recuperate, but allow yourself to slide back to your routine gently.

Enjoy shorter runs and build back up as your body allows.

You will enjoy the full race again before you know it.. keep on to your goal. 👟👟. 🎉🎉🎉

Well done you.. Keep to what you know and allow yourself to enjoy it.

Always let your body rest/slow down or stop when you need to.. it will last longer that way!!

ENJOY your runs and jogs and walks and every day of your life..

You set yourself the goal to do the run for life... As long as you are well enough.. Do it!! Don't allow emotions to put you off.. consider those endorphins after your run 👟👟

Just a thought kbed but how about following the NHS couch to 5k? It will probably be really easy for you but the sense of accomplishment will strengthen your confidence and your body strength while doing it all in a very sensible measured way. Sometimes back to basics gives us more than we expect😊
