Newbie ....determined

Hi, weighed myself yesterday and I weigh the most I ever have. 11 stone. I don't eat big dinners I always eat breakfast but my problem is snacking and I have a sweet tooth. I also get a "deprived" feeling if I don't have a treat . Anyway, my weight has gradually piled on a few pounds at a time over the years. My clothes are now tight and I'm going on holiday at the end of June. I would like to lose a stone. I have done it a bit half-heartedly over the last few years but am determined this time. Also, I had a passport photo taken last week and couldn't tell where my chin ended and my neck began.... any suggestions of sweet low fat snacks /tips etc. would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Have a look in the Topics section for healthy snack under "Recipes/Meals/Snacks" you may find some you like there.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

End of June gives you time to lose that stone , cut back on sugary foods, eat more fruit still get sugar fix but natural .. Dark chocolate a couple of squares a night can facilitate the sweet tooth as it's very rich.. Protein with lots of veggies is a good balanced meal. Cut back on bread, weigh pasta, rice .. These changes will help you reach your goal ... good luck 👍

Salad is good ! I have to say I don't understand why peeps have such a dislike for salad .. Salad Doesn't have to be boring add avocado, boiled egg, feta cheese, mozzarella, olives , spinach leaves , little gem with tuna fillet, chicken , salmon etc etc homemade dressing, balsamic vinegar, extra Virgini olive oil, mustard .. Delicious not necessarily all the above ingredients in one go but different things makes a salad more of a meal.. Making me hungry as I'm writing . Enjoy ! 👍
