I am starting the 12 week plan today. I have been dieting since the start of 2017, after realising I was the biggest I've ever been, and lost 10.5lb by end of February, but have hit a plateau and not lost since then. My weight has just fluctuated by 1-2lb here and there.
I need to lose weight for two reasons: firstly, I have a problem with my legs and mobility, which I know is exacerbated by being heavier. Secondly, due to my pain and the way that I feel about my body I am starting to get rather down, which is affecting many aspects of my life. Losing some weight would help both my body and my mind!
Good luck to all newbies, I will try to support where I can!

Hello Titanium85 and welcome to the weight loss forum 😊 Very well done on your weight loss so far, that's a great start to your journey 😊
Here are a few suggestions for getting the most out of the forum. (Please note some of these suggestions are not available if you are using the HU App so I suggest you use the full website.)
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you 😊
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access. Here you will find more information about bumps in the road and plateau busting hints in the resource section. We ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news 😊
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for. This is also a useful starting place to beat your current plateau 😊
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate 😊
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page 😊
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge or a weight loss badge. These start at 7lbs and then whole stones. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask 😊
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too 😊
Hi titanium85 , welcome! I only joined myself A week ago. I am the same as you, I can fluctuate but to be honest I think that's quite normal. Well done on your weight loss! 😊. I was 56.6 kg last Monday and today I am 56.2 kg .I am happy with whatever I lose as long as it's in the right direction. I have to be careful with my sugar intake due to a chronic health issue and no it's not diabetes. I found last week I went back to using soya milk and almond milk .increasing my water intake and going half gluten free has really helped me .I have reduced the chocolate down of an evening too . Please don't let it get you down, you will and can do this with the support on here. I get fed up every time I try to wear something I bought last summer that looks awful on due to my big tummu .I really need to do some excersise .I have bought a few things off eBay which I will start today. Keep your chin up! Rome wasn't built in a day 😉x
