Fatkaz 1962 finally getting serious!

Hi Everyone. I have never joined a community before except when I stopoed smoking almost 3 years ago and I joined a site where thete was huge encouragement from other quitters. I still don't smoke but I've rsmpaged straight into menopause and have managed to accumulate an abundance of belly and bumbl fat. Arms like a sumo wrestler and my heart shaped face has morphed to football shaped face. I have gone from a healthy 8stones 8lbs to a hideous 11stones. I'm only 5ft 1 do I feel sluggish, unhealthy and now I seriously want to get rid of the weight. I hate exercise so any tips to make it bearable would be welcome! Thanks

Hi Fatkaz1962

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Hi Fatkaz. I can sympathise completely having given up smoking just over 2 years ago and gained 3 stone, developing asthma as a bonus. I too am hitting the menopause, either that or my thermostat's broken; and have gained weight around my belly at an alarming rate. I decided a couple of days ago that it's time to do something. I'm sure with the support of this forum we can find a way to feel healthier and happier in ourselves. Welcome aboard
