Intro & Healthy Birthday Party Food Question?

Hi Everyone, I am new here, and wanting to lose weight. I just checked my BMI on the NHS Healthy Weight Calculator ( nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw... ), and discovered I am OBESE! My BMI is 32.9, I weigh 13st 10lbs. I've always thought of myself as getting just a little overweight and it not being much of a problem, but now I see that it is.

There are a number of birthdays in my family, we tend to get so much food in for each one that the party food lasts all week. Eating lots of cupcakes piled high with buttercream, chocolate anything, and grossly overeating till I feel stuffed.

What food can I get for Healthy Birthday Party Food?

I want food lower in fat, sugar and salt; as well as being nutritious, going to make me feel good, and doesn't make me feel sick, tired, and run down all week. (I know I should put less food out, but when you are feeding only a few people, and foods are sold in packs of many more).

Any help or advice would be very gratefully received!

Thank you!

Crudités (cut up veg) and humus works well, also non-salted nuts are good to feel satisfied. There are no 'good' cakes so why don't you make a few, enough for the party only? Good luck !
