Hi all,

I'mabout to start an 8 stone weight loss journey (eek!) and will hopefully succeed. I'm not following the usual 12 week plan here as a lot of people are as my dietician has written me a portion control plan I'll be sticking to. I have 8 stone to lose but am getting married in 19 weeks and can't lose more than a stone before then or my dress won't fit me! So my plan is a stone by the wedding (slow and steady wins the race!) then on to the next seven stone!

Just to have it here so I stay accountable for the next 19 weeks my given plan is:

3 square meals per day with half plate veg, quarter plate protein, quarter plate starch then lots of healthy water and up to two treats (a doughnut, icecream etc.) each week.

Here goes! I'll he weighing in on here tomorrow to start myself off!

Hi 8stonetogo

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbies post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start along with a photo so you can see the changes on the days when the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins, Monday's weigh in is over subscribed at the moment but you are welcome to join any other day. You can find the weigh in on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and state your starting weight and any loss/gain or maintain over the week.

To get the best out of the forum be active, share experiences, tips and recipes. Read some of the posts in the Topic section, they can be motivating.

Have a good first week.

Welcome 8stonetogo , I am sure an administrator will be along soon to welcome you and give you lots of information. How exciting, a wedding in 19 weeks, that will go quickly and what motivation for you. Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow and with your downwards journey. Keep posting, especially if you need support, you've come to the right place.

You sound really determined! You could lose more weight than a stone in 19 weeks. You will have to go slowly. Or get the dress taken in nearer the time. Good luck!!

Thank your for all the kind comments. I have PCOS and so lose weight very very slowly if at all so I'm doubtful I'll lose too much weight before the wedding (nice though that would be)! Even 1/2 pound a week would be a lot for me I think!
