Newbie who has lost the same 2.5 stones several times! Need tips on making this time the last

As the title says I'm a newbie to this board about to embark on trying to lose some weight. I really need to lose around 5 stones but for the last 3 years around this time of the year I've tried to lose weight, been successful in losing about 2.5 stones, have increased my exercise and activity but then it's like something clicks in my brain and I lose my confidence. It's as if I only believe I can lose 2.5 stones or maybe I'm afraid what it would be like to lose all 5 stone or just that I feel better a bit lighter and think I don't need to try. Probably a mix of all three.

So have you any tips for me to get my head into the right place so that I can make this time the last time I have 5 stones to lose?

Thank in advance.

Hi Nifty and welcome. If an administrator hasn't posted loads of useful information by the time I finish writing this, then they soon will. How you can set about doing it will be mentioned there.

What a large number of people here are doing, is not trying to rush the loss. They are creating lifestyles for themselves that will be sustainable after they have reached their goals.

Additionally, you will find so much support here from everyone who will cheer you through the good times but will be there for you, supporting you through the harder times. I can't exaggerate how large a part of our journey that is.

Having lost as much as you have previously, you've clearly got the strength to do well here.

Best of luck to you!

Hi Tigger

Thank you for responding. It will be nice to feel I'm walking alongside other people in the same boat! And I think you're right about this being long term changes and not just short term gains.
