Just a quick message to say: I didn't put on too much weight over London I have put on 2lbs which I can live with (now 16 st 6 lbs). Now back to some better and more sensible eating I am going to try and give up sugar at least for a month and see how I go. Hope you all have a good week. Wishing you all luck. Jp.

Well done😆 that's only a tiny gain and easily lost now your back to healthy eating.

Good luck with the no sugar, I'm doing no chocolate for March (British heart foundation) so I feel your pain,

Have a wonderful week, Kat x

Thanks Katmt. I wonder how I will go with no sugar as I pretty much live for those wonderful lovely sugary treats!! The reason I am doing it other then the obvious reasons is because I noticed in myself how addicted I am to it. Good luck with the no chocolate, I wonder if there is sugar free choc!

Well done for only gaining 2lbs and well done for giving up sugar :)

It sounds like an impossible task, but is actually easier than you think it will be. If you just grit your teeth while you get through the withdrawal, you'll find it gets easier, the longer you do without. I suggest you don't replace sugar with artificial sweeteners, because that has the same effect on your body as sugar does :)

All the best! :)

I'd second what Moreless said, the withdrawal bit can be pretty tough but once you come out the other side it's amazing how free you feel without the cravings and how much better you appreciate the taste of fresh foods and the more subtle sweetness in them when your taste buds are no longer numbed by super sweet junk, good luck 😀

Brill, I am looking forward to getting there. Have you got any idea how long it will take to get to the other side? or is it different for different people? Thanks. Jp.

I think it may vary from one person to another, it took me about 3 weeks the second week being the worst as I got through the first one on willpower and by the third my body was getting used to it

Cheers for that

Somebody mentioned that about the sweeteners at the weekend - I personally do not believe in sweeteners, so no problems there! Thanks. Jp.

Getting back on track straight away is the best tactic JacksonPollock 😊

Hope you enjoyed your trip

Hi Anna61, yes that was always my intention - this way I can do it again in the future I know that I can have fun, but come back fighting.

Yes trip was brill thanks - I went to see 'Harry Potter and the cursed child' which I would highly recommend to anyone remotely harry potter orientated. I also got in some sightseeing - I had a Harry Potter day and went to Kings cross station (harry potter shop/ platform 9 3/4 and Leadenhall market. Then I also went to London Zoo, Kensington palace and sea life centre. The highlight of the trip was the play. Thanks. Jp.

Sounds fab 😊

Yay you did well! I bet that 2lbs will reverse quickly. Sounds like you had an excellent time. Will look into the play... funny how you can live somewhere and never go to any of the attractions and then someone visiting for a few days can see them all! Mind you not much time for going out round my job and studying... Good luck for going sugar free :)
