hi all, im 29 years old. I am currently weighing in at 13 stone 2lbs. I have been told by drs and nurses over the years after doing food charts that my problem with not loosing weight is due to my body going into starvation mode as i do not eat enough, this is usually one meal a day and 2 or 3 snacks though out the day. My problem is i do not feel like eating much, im a terribly fussy eater, i will not eat any sea food, and a bit of a hit and miss with meat, so when i see these healthy recipes they seem to contain food i do not like, my other problem is i also suffer from IBS and i get random intense pain under my rib causing my stomach to become swollen and tender to touch under my rib and i think these are brought on by certain foods. I would ideally like to be back to size 8-10 the size before i 1st became a mom and began comfort eating from PND, im sure it will not happen but a girl can dream haha.

sorry about the long post xx

Welcome to the site Sarah. I have IBS too, and switching to a low fat vegan diet really helped. It might be worth trying a full elimination diet to determine what your trigger foods are, although it can be a time consuming process.

Hi 19sarah87

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or if your on a mobile at the bottom. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start along with a photo so you can see the changes and it can be motivating on days when the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh-ins so why not come and join us. You can find them posted in the Events section on the right on the Home page. Just click on the post and state your starting weight together with any loss, gain or maintain for the week.

To get the best from the forum be active, share experiences, tips and recipes. Read some of the posts in the Topic section they are good for inspiration and getting us motivated.

Have a good first week.

Hi IBS is difficult to manage you probably can't eat many fruits or veg That's what I live on I don't eat red or cured meat and now can't eat cheese So it's chicken and fish for me Your body uses carbs first so cut them down if you can then your body will burn the fat Well in theory !! Good luck anyway

Welcome to the forum! :)

I suffer IBS but I must say since making changes to my diet my IBS only really flares up when I am stressed now. :)

Good luck!

thank you all :) , it is extremely hard to judge what i can have, i have had laparoscopy a few times and have been after suffering with pelvic pain that i have scar tissue, i can be in agony for 2 days after having a baked potato, most fruits give me mouth ulcers and alot of food gives me terrible acid reflux including cucumber haha, i think i am rotting from the inside, but im hoping if i can over come this and grin a bare it and eat healthy and start dropping lbs that the pain and problems will ease up after a while. I am starting the nhs 12 week plan from tomorrow, as of tomorrow i will be saying bye to chocolate and crisps and my odd can of dr pepper, i am determined to do this, xx
