Wednesday Chips - Wednesday Willpower?

I am a freelance designer but work in the same place every Wednesday where it is known as Wednesday Chips Day. I always have a regular portion of chips and a battered sausage! So what do I do today? No Sausage? Smaller portion of chips? Or nip to M&S and buy a salad? Willpower is not my strong point!

Why not plan this into your calories for the day and then it's not 'naughty' as you haven't gone over your daily allowance? Smaller portions will be better...xx

I was thinking about a small portion of chips but "My Fitness Pal" calorie counts vary wildly between about 300 and 900!! If it's 300 that's fine I can fit them in. Thank you for reminding me that nothing is 'naughty' xx

I will eat 8 chips medium size and an apple in this situation. There are a lot of people who diet only on portion control. So a small portion can be a solution. You can also cut fats for the rest of the day.

Do you work with somebody that would share your lunch? Portions of chips are generally too big even if you ask for a small portion, this way you can half what you eat without maybe feeing that you are waisting the rest. (I haven't eaten chips for the past 5 weeks - I can smell the salt and vinegar - need to think of something else now lol).

I would get a smaller portion of chips - or maybe a sausage without the batter?

You could spread your calorie allowance over a week. So instead of 1500 calories per day, for example, you have 10500 calories for the week. That way you could have a small portion of chips (I'd avoid the sausage, but I don't like sausages any way) and reduce your calories for the rest of the week to make up for it.

I haven't had chips from a chippy for quite a while as I started to find they were too greasy for me. It's easier to resist something if you don't enjoy it in the first place.😕

If we always do what we've always done, then we'll always get what we've always had ;)

I haven't had a chip for 17 months. Do I miss them? Not a bit! :)

You'll have to do what feels right for you, but don't decide to have it, then regret it afterwards. Decide which way you want to go and be happy with your choice :)

I'm pretty sure I've heard that before but my goldfish memory means I never recall these things. Part of this journey has included making note of inspirational quotes whichI keep on my mobby. I'm adding this one.
