Hello everyone,

My husband is attending a weight loss 12 week plan at our local hospital after having a heart procedure six weeks ago.

I too need to loose weight and get healthy so I thought I would join this forum and download the NHS apps. So far I'm

Amazed at the information that is on the site. When I bumped into this forum I had to sign up and introduce myself. I'm hoping that I will be inspired by all of the stories and weight loss tips on here.

I'm Helene by the way.

Looking forward to the start of my journey 💕

He Helene!

Welcome to this journey. :)

Some people take this journey on their own... while some people are pushed into it by their Doctors... Either way, you are in it so enjoy it to the fullest.

I can't say I am on weight loss journey because I have been maintaining my weight ( 155 lbs) for past 30 years.. now I am 50... but I can surely share my tips and 'Tricks; :P

1. Be patient.. slow and steady wins the race... be a tortoise not a rabbit.

2. Enjoy the journey, the ups and downs, the success and failures.

3. Most imp - Love yourself, love your body, love your being.

4. Love your food, don't hate food, but don't eat excess.

5. Surround yourself with nature.. fruits .. veggies.. salads.. and love every bit of it.

6. Love nature, walk into nature often.

7. Throw out all junk food. Stay away from people who over feed you.

8. Connect with fitness freaks, join more fitness groups

9. Never give up.

10. Be healthy and be happy :)

Hi and welcome, Helene :)

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you :)

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news :)

Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate :)

We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too :)

It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey :)
