A newbie and slow

Hi

Just received a prompt that I haven't introduced myself though have been posting. I used to be in the enviable position of eating what I liked without putting on weight-those were the days! I have had several episodes of putting on weight going up to 10.5 stone. That was because I was acting up for my manager and not happy working long hours being very stressed and living off take away cos I couldn't be bothered to cook. I lost it training for the moonwalk charity walk then gradually put it back on. The fact that clothes were getting very tight and had to go up to 12-14. That made me decide I needed to loose the weight so want to loose at least a stone but no more than 1.5. A size 10 would be nice!im doing the 12 week NHS weight loss since I'm a vegetarian and work shifts and find calorie counting easier that all the diets out there- I just find them all confusing and conflicting info doesn't help. I like the idea that I can still eat the foods I like but take the treats into account.

Hello RG07 and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺ You probably know your way around the site but I'll give you the usual welcome ☺

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Getting the target calories right is very helpful, the bmi checker will tell you this, and dont forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The majority of our daily weigh-in's are now full, but we still have spaces in Thursday and Sunday, which you'd be very welcome to join. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna

thank you- so far each week I am loosing weight though it varies but my waist has gone down from 83cm (in the red so at high risk of diabetes and heart disease) to 77cm (border between red and amber risk). Since I have a strong history of diabetes in the family and to a lesser degree of heart disease then I am keen to avoid them.
