I'm a newbie needing advice!

I'm only 23 and nearly 2 stone over the ideal weight as calculated by the NHS BMI calculator. I really really want to lose the weight but find it really hard to stick to things. I get bored, so I eat and I hate feeling hungry.

Will the plan help me to lose this? I've tried 'clean eating' but it's just been too expensive. I also have to have staff food at work at least twice a week so I have no choice.

I'm going away in June with my boyfriend and want to lose weight for it. Any tips on how to begin and stick with it?

Thanks, Naomi :)

Hi You shouldn't feel hungry on this . You say you have to eat staff food twice a week surely they don't make you or do they Take your own packed lunch . I find there is plenty of variety if you like lots of fruit and vegetables you can buy at cheap supermarkets I hope you don't get bored and give up . Keep looking on here I have just started and love the support you get

They don't make you, but there are no facilities to make your own/store your own as I work in a restaurant and breaks are quite tight as it is 😕 Also is the main aspect of this plan keeping to calories?

Hello naomilouise and welcome to the weight loss forum

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Its important to eat the right number of calories as suggested by the bmi checker. And don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The majority of our daily weigh-in's are now full, but we still have spaces in Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday which you'd be very welcome to join. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna
