Some good ideas on there, interesting to read about the good effects surrounding drinking coffee too; might have to read more about that!

Yes, I read the good effects of caffeine as well, however don't how much good research on this subject, but the anti-oxidant effect of caffeine seems to be conclusive. In any case, I'm relieved to know that I can stick to my 2 instant coffees a day, not to worry about it:)

p.s. I much prefer the flavour of tea, coffee for me is to wake up in the morning and stay alive in the afternoon. On the other hand, it probably explain why my husband is skinny, he's a coffee addict!

Aha I totally agree with you there, love a good cuppa but need the energy boost from coffee for work! At least black coffee is only like 2 calories, wahey!!

Ah nope didn't see that, when was it on as I wouldn't mind catching it and it'd be an interesting watch.

I guess the addiction to coffee is similar to that of when people get addicted to red bull due to the high caffeine content plus i doubt that having an excessive amount of coffee or caffeine would be very good on the cardiovascular system too.

It's all about getting that balance isn't it?!

It is a matter of balance for most people. Tea has caffein in it as well, even some decaf coffee. Maybe in the future scientific evidence will suggest having coffee is no good at all, just like smoking, but for now my personal opinion is it's in the category similar to alcohol, it provides certain thing you need or want, and reasonable amount of consumption is not damaging to your health.

most people are aware it's addtive, just like sugar, nicotine and acohol. On a related point, I believe there's such thing as addictive personality, I can take coffee, sugar and alcohol and leave it, but my husband can't.
