Here I am, a 5'2" female, I have got down from "obese" size 20 to "over weight" size 12-14 but have never been part of a forum before.. I hope I can make it work for me (by checking in) to help me with the next stage from "over weight" to LONG TERM HEALTHY!!

Happy to receive any tips and help..

I love eating and generally have 5 fresh fruits prep'd and ready for 3-4 days at a time which does my breakfast and tea/snacks. I use the slow cooker for meat, pulses and veggies which can be eaten in succession or frozen for later.

I have bad knees - so I try to walk as much as possible to keep them going.. which my dog appreciates. But I lack other exercises.. but have bought a set of hand weights and a DVD or 2 to try to imitate.. My husband is very supportive and we are both impresses with the download.

It all continues now but with a 12 week challenge ...

Welcome! ! Well done for already losing so much!! This forum has been great for me - I hope it works for you too. A great mixture of people, all at different stages, all supporting each other. If you look at the side of thth screen, there is a post called 'welcome newbies' which will hopefully be useful!

There are weighins every day, so find a day that suits you - there is space on the Wednesday weigh in, posted just now by moreless, ready for tomorrow - you could introduce yourself on that thread, and share your starting weight if you want to, and your goals.

Look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome Minniewinny

You have done so well. Congratulations !!

You'll find this forum hugely supportive and motivating.

We have space on the Wednesday weigh in, you just need to post you weight and any loss this week plus your target for the coming week.

Have a good poke around the site and don't be afraid to get stuck in to comments and likes. It's all about supporting each other.

Good luck.

Jo

Thank you for your encouragement.

Wednesday is not a good day for me, I leave home at 6:30am and get back at 9:45pm..., I hope to weigh in on Saturday. I have now downloaded some of the apps so totally intend to follow this through. Just reading some posts and replies is encouraging in itself.

A better way of life for all of us!

Wishing you success with your goals 🔐 We all hold the key to unlock what we are really capable of.. just believe it and enjoy the progress.

A silly long day.. but worthwhile.

I work 8-4 after an hours drive, then I go straight from work to learn sign language at an evening class...

The course finishes in July, so another 6 months and then Wednesdays will not be so long!!

Not doing the next level as it's too expensive, but happy with what I'm learning/using.

I've already been encouraged by the remarks and messages to me and others... I have given one of my work mates the link to look at... She has recently signed up at SW, I hope she takes on the challenge as it will be good to see each other's progres and edge each other on...

I forgot to say about exercise, gentle but frequent would be my suggestion, 3 or 4 times a day ☺ check out Lesley Sansome on youtube for wet days ☺

Hi Minniewinny , have just read your post. My hubby has dreadful knees and the physio has suggested he uses an exercise bike building up to 5 days a week. He started off doing 15 minutes and now does 30. He say's it has helped a bit, early days, he's only been doing it for 4 weeks. Well done on your weight lose so far and wishing you luck for your continuing journey downwards.😊

Thank you lucigret I tried bike riding but after 20 minutes it left me in agony with my knees (torn cartilage) and back pain for 3 weeks!! Decided to let the idea of bike riding go.. As much as it would have been fun. Thankfully a friend let me use hers... so I didn't have the expense of buying one!!

I am glad your husband is making progress.

It's great to have so much encouragement, and so much experience and wisdom all in one place on such a free to give environment. So glad I found it and joined.

Well done on your journey so far. I'm currently a size 18 and aiming to lose to an initial target of 'overweight' not obese, and your story and advice has given me lots of inspiration. At this rate you will meet your goals and inspire others to do so too
