We tried cooking venison for the first time tonight. Just bought it from Tesco, 2 leg steaks for £6...

Hubbie cooked - venison steak with a port, wine and shallot sauce, roasted carrots, green beans and roasted celeriac chips. 489 calories in total. The steak was only 160 calories for 150g.....

I liked it! Most definitely would try it again, especially as it is so lean and low in calories.

That looks delicious, Pineapple! I've never actually cooked venison before, although I have eaten it. I really must give it a try :)

Thanks for sharing :)

Looks delicious, Pineapple27. I've never thought to use celeriac as chips 😊

Venison is yummy, so tasty 😊 Have you tried venison sausages? Not bad calorie wise either 😊

Thanks for the photo, something I never manage to do, it looks a lovely meal and with the calorie count we're all allowed, sauces are happily possible. Being half Norwegian I've always liked venison. Glad to know that they sell it in Tesco.
