Hello, newbie here!

Hello, I am Alison, I have yo yo'd with my weight for years. Last year I eventually got to a weight that I was really happy with 9 stone 7. I felt great and confident. Unfortunately I have fallen with a holiday just before Christmas , then Christmas festivities, then a health issue. So here I am 10 stone 8.5 . I know for those facing a huge challenge ( I have been there, my heaviest was 13 stone ) this may sound an easy hill to climb, however I have CFS and I have to pace, doing the same expenditure of energy daily, or I will crash and when you wake up feeling like you have run a marathon, healthy food choices are not easy. So my climb is still hard, but I know from last year it is doable and not only that, a great reward awaits me health wise, when achieved. I do hope being part of a community will help these during next 12 weeks and make it seem like less of a lonely struggle.

    I'm sorry to hear that you have so many issues with your health, but there are many others on the forum, who have overcome enormous obstacles on their roads to success and I'm sure they'll be supporting you all the way :)

    Go to the Pinned Posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile) and take a look at the Welcome Newbie thread. If you have any questions, look at the Topics below, to see if they'll help you out, or ask on the forum. Join any, or all of our challenges :)

    I'm happy that you've joined our Thursday weigh-in, as it's very motivating to be surrounded by supportive people in a similar situation :)

    Many people have been successful with the 12 week plan and I'm sure you will be too. Don't forget to take initial measurements and photos, as it's a great way of seeing just how far you've come, especially when the scales aren't co-operating fully :)

    We're really a big family here and there's a lot of love and support, We work on a 'pay-it-forward' system, so everyone is taken care of. I know that you'll do the same for others :)

    Regaining our lost weight is so easy, we've all been there , don't beat yourself up. You've lost it before and you can do it again, at your own pace, whether it takes weeks or months.

    It took me nearly a year to lose 2st and since been another 18 months at maintenance, although I too gained a few pounds over Xmas.

    Today is a new day and we can both get back on track. PS I can't do strenuous exercise either due to angina, just walking really. 😊

  • Yes, walking is my saviour. We have a dog so rain or shine I get a 40 min walk every night. On to another day:)
