Well done for making this post. It isn't easy for any of us to just ignore the bad stuff around us. May I suggest you bin them all and start again right now? Good luck!

From now! Thanks!

Because we sometimes do, we are human! Just start again tomorrow .

Thanks. Yes. Accept and move on!

Why are you doing it? :) is because you're feeling down and very tired? As soon as I feel rubbish I want to reach for the chocolates. Sometimes we slip up, it happens, especially when we aren't feeling great.

This is why emotional health is so important on the weightloss journey :)

You can put down the chocolates. Better yet. Throw them out if you can or hide them under the bed!

I think we are all rebounding from the "Christmas binge" state of mind. But you have the ability to stop now and get back on track :) be kind to yourself. Forgive and forget and move on!

I ate six jelly babies the other day :/ I don't even like them. I mean really! Self-sabotage!! But all you can do is remember how annoyed it makes you feel afterwards and try to walk right on past those chocolates'.

Take care of yourself as well. Give yourself some emotional pampering. Rest, have a bath, light candles, have some "you time". I bought loads of face masks and nail varnishes and will put on a Face mask when feeling super low (almost impossible to eat with them on as waiting for them to dry!) and painting nails takes my mind off of whatever is upsetting me.

Sorry for rambling on! :) I just wanted to show that a) it isn't just you, b) it isn't the end of the world OR the end of your progress and c) you deserve to forgive, forget and move on (actually I've just decided I'm adopting this as my mantra for 2017) :)

Not rambling! Being supportive! Slept really badly last night. Doesn't help. Thanks for replying.

Good ideas for what to do when something or somebody has upset you. I keep wanting to buy Quality Street because we did not (because of our good dieting intentions) buy any this year for Christmas, and we have always done so before.

I also find it helps to put pen to paper, write a letter or email expressing my thoughts but not necessarily sending it (if its emotive)

I know how you feel Hidden . The reality of January is wearing me down a bit. I just don't like the dark evenings! I bought roast chicken, a mango and some strawberries for this evening. Then I found some swiss roll I had forgotten about in a tin...need I say more? I

Doesn't mean everything has gone off the rails though...it's all about keeping going!

So silly. I have a holiday in a few weeks and really wanted to lose a few pounds b4 then. Maybe I got too hung up on it.

Thanks x

in reply to Ruby8

Definitely! Back on that wagon/rails!

Oh heck, Frankie, I know exactly what you mean! I was overcome by the sugar monster, having stayed clean for 15 months! I had absolutely no control whatsoever and ended up eating all the chocolate biscuits and After Eight mints that were left in the house! I felt horrible and the cravings just wouldn't stop! Once everything was gone, I just had to go cold turkey and hey presto, after a nightmare day, no more cravings! I'm back in control!

My advice, either bin it or eat it and get it over with, then stop! Dead! Don't let sugar control you!

You can do this! :)

Quality Street have a lot to answer for don't they. I was a bit miffed that they withdrew one of the nicest ones. That gave me my one reason not to buy them, but I still want them somehow.

Such a relief to read these posts and know that I'm not the only one struggling with sugar cravings this week. Also have half a home made Xmas pud in fridge... can't bear to throw it out but will freeze it! 😊

in reply to Ariele-6

good planning! The problem is, we bought some very good (Hotel Chocolat) boxes as gifts, then we were ill so didn't see the people they were for. ..... so they're hanging around the house calling to me!

I know how you feel.I planned on being good this week, instead I can't stop eating rubbish. Its making me feel so miserable .

in reply to rosie15

I think it's hard. We all need to be kind to ourselves! It's ok to fall off the wagon; we just have to get back on it and keep getting on it!

I understand your frustration, I'm surrounded by left over Christmas chocs and snacks, the temptation is there but I'm trying to resist / change habits . It's certainly not easy but don't beat yourself up, we're in this for the long term so carry on tomorrow with the healthier diet x

Someone on another post put an image saying that we have 365 opportunities every year. Take today as a new opportunity to eat healthily. We can start fresh every day, rather than worrying about what happened yesterday.
