Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back.

So.. life got really on top of me the end of last year. Between losing family, and leaving my job. It was a tumultuous and scary time and the last thing I wanted to worry about was my weight. So I kind of checked out.

I wanted to say sorry to my Mordor group for kind of vanishing like that. I felt like a total butt.

But I've kind of settled everything now, and I'm working on getting into teacher training, and now that life is kind of at peace with me again, I'm ready to get back on track!

So! Between emotional eating and Christmas, I reenter into the fold at a sordid 246.2lbs.

Today I am starting LCHF again, as the last time I did this, it works REALLY well for my blood sugars.

So here we go again!

  • Wishing you a much happier 2017 and it's so good that you're back x

  • Welcome back to the fold! No worries about the journey to Mordor - my own journey is bad enough without the dangers that the Mordor one would have brought! :-) Glad things on track again for you and wishing you luck with the teacher training prospect and the LCHF (now have to look that up as no idea what it is!!!!) Take care again :-) :-)

  • Low Carb, High Fat. Its a type of diet. Carbs are hectic for a diabetic, so cutting it out really helps.

  • Of course - doh!! Obviously brain not working as well as body. Better retreat to darkened bedroom again...

  • Good to see you Quinntuppance ! Sounds like you've been through some tough times. Don't worry about last year, put it behind you and concentrate on the future and new tasks ahead, you've got some good plans there!

The Mordor thing was good in that it taught me how to use a walking app and track distances (although I never summed them up and posted), and that has really made walking more interesting for me! So a big thank you for that. I've found that tracking exercises helps me to do more. I struggle to track Couch to 5k, because it's both walking and running, and I know the minutes of both but not the distances, so I don't really track my runs, but I add them to my exercise spreadsheet.

We'll see what happens on the forum, if some new exercise challenges appear this year, and if there will be a place to track, that would be good of course.

It's good that you've found something that works for you, and I would like to wish you all success with your LCHF diet.

    Tidi

  • That makes me so happy! I'm really glad that it helped you in that way!

I don't use Couch to %k, but I use a similar one called Zombies, Run! They have a 5k app. I like it cuz zombies XD

Keep up the good work though!

  • It really did help me ! Thanks for the tip, gotta try Zombie Run :)

  • Welcome back Qt! I've learned that everyone loves a trier, so it's not about the number of times you fall off the wagon, but about the number of times you climb back onboard! :)

I'm sorry that you've had such a rough trot, but am heartened to hear that things are finally getting back on track for you :)

    Here's to a brilliant year! :)

  • Yay moreless - back in the saddle!! :-) :-) :-)
