Eeeek!

β€’15 Replies

I have counted calories over the holiday period. Christmas Day itself was my best day! 1500 cal. Since then it's gone downhill. Boxing Day 2400, then 2100 the last two days. Shocking! But possibly less than I might have consumed if I weren't tracking. I promise tomorrow is going to be a good day. Good luck you all. πŸ˜€

I suppose that's not bad as the latest research suggests on average a person will consume 6000 calories on Christmas Day. Ekk!πŸ˜‰

Thankfully even though I was over what I should have had I was no where near that 6000 calories (less than half thankfully but still more than it should have been )

Woah!!! I had about 2300, offset by about 400 calories worth of exercise. That felt loads!

OOo I am the same as you Christmas day was over what I should have eaten (but no where near what I would have eaten had I not been counting the calories) but Boxing day was the worst and the last two days have improved - today even tho I treated myself to a Macdonalds breakfast I have managed to stay just under my calorie allowance for today

Tomorrow will be even better - as we are heading to the local tomorrow night I have said I will be delegated driver (will be on the soda water :) )

Good luck and well done continuing to count your calories over the last few days :)

McDonalds breakfasts can continue to be enjoyed on occasion, provided calorie content is considered in daily allowance. Nothing should ever be off limits.

I wouldn't worry about the accumulation of any excess over the festive period, since it'll be lost once healthy eating habits and calorie deficits are re-introduced in the new year.

The fact that you're continuing to track calories over the festive period demonstrates a sense of self-awareness, something that may have been absent in years gone by.

Although your recovery from injury may prevent you from being as active as you'd like, is swimming something that you could consider to increase calorie expenditure in the new year?

Unfortunately I live too far away from the nearest sports centres, MrNiceGuy.

i am.. but I don't usually count calories and just concentrate on being low carb (which I didnt do very well over Xmas with ).. I have also just synched my fitbit to my fitness pal as well now and It then logs all my exercise automatically now on mfp & fitbit x

Oh that's good your all linked up now. I use nutracheck as I didn't get on with mfp. But it's all good. πŸ˜‰

I also counted cals throughout and some days are well over 2000 cals for me too. But being accountable is always the first step :)

I think you did really well to count over the hols. It keeps you accountable and aware, definitelygood for damage lilimitation! !

Well done for counting and for being so restrained! I found it far too easy to go overboard and wish I had kept count like you did! It doesn't sound half as bad as it could have been and at least you know exactly how bad/not bad it was :)
