I have a friend who is really struggling with Rheumatoid Arthritis constantly is in pain. Ankles elbows knees wrist are the most affected areas. Pills don't do much as pain gets back in not less than an hour. Has someone been with someone with this condition. Any suggestions herbs home remedies or acupuncture that can help. I will appreciate any suggestions. Thanking in advance.

Hi Christine,

You've posted in the Weight Loss NHS forum, and I wanted to give you some links to communities that might be better suited to respond to your query about rheumatoid arthritis, so you get some helpful replies:

Within Healthunlocked there are 3 communities that I've spotted that might be useful:

The first one is called 'Arthritis Action Community'

healthunlocked.com/arthriti...

The second one is Arthritis Ireland Community:

healthunlocked.com/arthriti...

The 3rd one is the Rheumatoid Arthritis Warriors:

healthunlocked.com/ra-warriors

Maybe have a look and see if you would find any of those communities helpful.

Cut out gluten and most carbs seems to work for me and I'm loosing weight. I'm obese so I know loosing the weight will help. swimming, pilates and strengthening excercise like body pump also helps. amazon do arthritis gloves and warmers you can put in microwave. Dare I say quitting alcohol and smoking may also help reduce the inflamation. cod liver oil and calcium substitutes also help as I dont take dairy either but that's due to my IBS. massages of any kind will help but long term it's a diet change. hope it helps

For some people, cutting out all wheat products can help with the symptoms.

Thank you so much all for your tips. Will try and help my friend to change his way of life.
