Since starting to lose weight at the beginning of September, and joining this lovely forum on the 14th of that month (nearly 3 months to the day), I haven't posted much. I do love reading all the inspiring posts, though, and thought it was about time I did one myself
I went away on a mini break for a couple of days, at the beginning of the week, returning on Wednesday evening. Not being able to wait until next Monday's weigh-in to see what damage I had done (!), I weighed myself this morning. I had to check twice, as I didn't believe the scales I weighed 11st 9.4lbs which is nearly 2lbs down from last Monday, and only .4lb to go for my goal of losing 2 1/2 stone by Christmas!
It just goes to show that by choosing sensibly and still doing some exercise, I can still enjoy myself and not sabotage my efforts In the evenings I had grilled fish and veg one night, then chicken with a large salad, the next. I chose fruit as a dessert. I didn't have the 'full English' at the B&B, just Fruit 'n Fibre, yogurt, fruit juice and one piece of toast with marmalade (no butter). Just a small sandwich and piece of fruit for lunch. We did a lot of walking, though, which certainly helped. Each day I was away I clocked up over 15,000 steps Not hard to do either. A 6 mile walk alongside the river, and then round the village (Dulverton) in the evening, to see the Christmas lights. The following day another short walk through the woods (we were on the edge of Exmoor) in the morning. Then a visit to Dunster Castle in the afternoon.
If I don't do anything stupid today and tomorrow, I'm hoping I get the same result for the Monday weigh-in The best bit of all, though, was my BMI! It's now 29.9, overweight and not obese. Best Christmas present ever!
I now have another 2 stone to lose for my final healthy weight, and I know I can do it with the support and help this forum provides. Big thank yous to everyone who has helped me stay on track, and supported me on my bad days. I couldn't have done it without you! Hugs! xx
Wow, Hidden - this is such an incredible result, after you've been away, and at such a festive time of year!!! You are amazing!!! Plus your BMI is 29.9 - fantastic that you've moved down a BMI category - that is brilliant!!! Many many Congratulations!!!! I am waving Pom Poms and I'm very excited!!!
Wishing you a really great weekend, it's nearly here!
Thanks Zest , I really couldn't believe the scales this morning I feel so much healthier, and have much more energy, too. Your continuing support and lovely comments are such a big help!
Fantastic, Timsmum! This is a lovely positive post and highlights just how far you've come! WTG you!
I remember how delighted I was, the day I finally left the obese category and became 'merely' overweight, now I can't wait to reach healthy BMI and if you carry on as you have been, you'll be a healthy weight in next to no time too
Keep doing what you're doing, because it's obviously working and enjoy the rest of your journey
Thank you JiminyCricket The waitress kept asking me if I was sure I didn't want the cooked breakfast! We were the only ones in the B&B those two days, so she kept 'hovering', lol!
It sure does, I still have a big grin today! Thank you
We must be the same height, as I hit 29.9 at 11st 9 a few weeks ago. It felt great to no longer be obese and like you I'm also trying to get another 2st off. It always feels great to come back from a holiday weighing less, so well done!
