Waiting for weight...

So at 22 I already feel like i've been on a diet forever... and I weigh more now than I have ever done! I'm tired of being breathless walking for no time at all, and having to hold my breath so my friends can't hear me struggling. Also can't tell if my bad skin/aches and pains are something I should worry about, or just because my food is crap and I weigh too much!

I want to lose 3 stone, to be proud of the way I look and feel... and set myself up to be healthier for life. Tired of waiting for the weight to shift, time I shifted myself!

Wish me luck, its here i'll be coming when I'm trying to decide between a satsuma... and a chocolate orange!

It sounds as though you could do with some professional support here, your doctor could advise you about your skin and aches and pains and whether something needs investigating. But also might be able to refer you to a gym to get some help on setting up an exercise program. Or some other fitness class? We all need to find what exercise works for us, but doing something physical is so beneficial in lots of ways and also speeds up the weight loss . The first steps are the hardest but making that decision and going is empowering and is the start of taking control of our bodies. Tiny steps lead to big things, and you can do it! Good luck😊

Hello erw432 😊

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. It’s great that you’ve joined. We are a friendly bunch! 😊

I agree that a visit to your GP may help, but we can also help support you in your weight loss journey 😊

First place to look is at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread.😊 there is lots of info here, and links to the nhs12 week plan and also for checking your BMR and target calories 😊 it's important to eat enough so you don't get hungry or feel deprived 😊

If you feel confident then join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you follow Lowcal and Moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page. 😊

It's also good to be active on the forum, that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration.😊 If you have any questions or just need to offload this can be very helpful 😊

Good luck and best wishes

I do that holding my breath thing when I'm struggling too! I'm always mortified when I'm the least fit out of everyone. It really isn't anything to be ashamed of though. Just aim to build up your walking slowly and soon it won't feel like so much of an effort.
