Someone help please :(

Hi all! I'm really concerned about my weight it's always been up and down but a few months ago I got diagnosed with PCOS and since then my weight has risen to a lot more than I've ever been and it's quite depressing at times I've never been on a diet and my weight would change due to walking around at college and then having the summer off and staying at home but now I'm finished and I drive to work because it is a bit far from my house.. Would just exercising more at home help or would I need to now start a diet? I'm unsure of what to do for the best right now And I'm only 21 so I want to sort it before it becomes a long term problem if someone could advise me i would appreciate it so much

Thanks :)

  • Hi Meganrhianne,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NhS forum. I can see you've got some questions, and I was wondering if the following information page might help you - it's from the NHS and might help you to decide whether you wish to pursue a healthy eating plan, and/or exercise, and maybe discuss it with your GP to decide the best thing for you personally.

I hope this is a helpful starting point.

Also, have a read of our Welcome Newbie post, to see what things are going on in the forum, and whether you want to join in with anything here.

    Wishing you the best.

    Lowcal :-)

  • Hi Meganrhianne and welcome!

I've got PCOS. It does make you gain weight more easily in my experience, however I've found that controlling my diet, lots of walking (not necessarily vigorous exercise!) and just being active has been very effective.

If you have any questions please ask 😊
