Transient motivation

I'm terrified this is too hard and I will never reach the target I have in my head - it's not quite made it to my lips yet!

Despite joining this forum weeks ago I've steadfastly failed to weigh in or post. I have 2.5st to lose and in fact since joining it was my birthday and in that week I managed to gain 8lb. That was motivational. For the next week I watched my diet ran 1km and skipped 15 minutes every morning - 1 week later that additional 8lb is gone but I'm already slacking on both diet and exercise. Struggling to understand why I give in so easily whilst I'm not happy with my current state. I have a cruise mid Dec and my years goal was a fab beach body - I may not manage perfection but I need to focus and make progress in the next three weeks. Any tips.

You are not the only one and we're just humans !

We have to be kind on ourselves when we slip, let it not be come a negative turn it around straight away and look at whats good around you and concentrate on that.

A mini cruise 🌞 wow you are a lucky one enjoy especially in this gloomy weather enjoy it whatever you weigh.

I feel just eating healthier has lifted my spirits. I have not an occasion to be losing weight for apart from my health after suffering grief and anxiety and I strive to continue full steam ahead

😀

Hi and welcome, Sab :)

Although you're not technically a newbie, I'm gong to give you the same information, as I believe it's what you need. Its only by throwing yourself into community life, that you'll gain the confidence, motivation and support to achieve your goals.

You're so scared that you won't be able to finish, that it's preventing you from starting. That secret goal that you have in your head, has grown to gargantuan proportions now and seems completely insurmountable! I'm going to give you a new target! ;)

You have 3 weeks until your cruise and I believe you can lose at least 1/2lb per week, so your goal is to lose 2lbs by that time! Do you accept the challenge? ;)

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread.

Look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you follow Zest and myself, you'll be notified when we post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page and remains open until 6pm on Friday's.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration.

Wishing you all the best, as you continue your journey to health and happiness :)

Hi there, you have already proved you can do it by what you did to lose the weight you had gained over your birthday. Well done :)

Hi sab!

You joined the forum but you haven't commited to it. Go for it! You just need to take a deep breath and chuck yourself in. Weigh yourself on Monday morning and tell everyone. If you have a good day, tell everyone. Of its going pear shaped, tell everyone! It's all fine. I love that it's anonymous, I feel it gives me the freedom to be honest, which is needed - no more secret toast for me! We are all here for each other. Good luck x
