Hi, my name is Robin and after gradually getting fatter I have decided to try this NHS weight loss thing. I struggle with my digestion after having my gallbladder removed in my early 30's. I don't know what I'm supposed to eat or how it affects my weight but I know it does. I don't have a dreadful diet but it could be better, so I'm going to try my best.

New and trying to lose weight
Hi Robin,
Welcome to the Weight Loss NhS forum. I'm rushing about at the moment, so I will just tell you about the Welcome Newbie post - as that is in the Pinned posts area and it's a good starting point for helping you find your way around the forum, and knowing what's available.
I hope you'll join in with anything you like the look of.
The Welcome Newbie post is in the Pinned Posts area - right-hand-side of the homepage.
Lowcal
Hello and welcome Pigeonwidow 😊
Another good resource for nutritional advice is the British Heart Foundation, it suggests specific portions of each food group, 😊 I found it useful as I thought I was eating healthily (which I was), but had too larger portions! 😊
Have a read of of the links lowcal suggested and then ask if you have any questions 😊
Good luck
You may need to, but you have to WANT to. I'm about three weeks in front of you.
Now I want to as well.
Started the exercises on the NHS site but no jogging yet - too heavy.
New doc says swimming and walking.
Old doc said all my checks were fine, i'm just a fat B like him.
I said diet, he said no. "Just remember this - no fat people walked out of Belsen !!!"
Too many calories in, is too many calories on.
Good luck.
