Worried about failing

Im in full time education so I took time off college to recover from an illness. But I have halloween and my graduation coming up.

Previous years ive been terrible for sweets and chocolate. And my graduation is such a special occassion being first in my family to do so.

My motivation has hit the wall with being ill and not attending the gym I feel old habits starting to creep back in.

How to I motivate myself to stick on my journey when temptation is everywhere. Especially when I wont be attending the gym which is my reminder of what im aiming for.

Im so worried that im going to hit that wall again and I wont break through it. It took so much courage to start this journey and ive come further than ever not just physically but mentally. How do I stop old habits creeping in

Try a visualisation technique....see yourself walking up on stage at your graduation, looking good, trim, healthy and happy! Work on positive thinking. Spend your free time with upbeat people who look for some joy in their lives. Read inspiring books by people who have been successful and happy... despite what life throws at them. Read the success stories on this forum too!

Life is too short to spend it being anxious and overweight...you only get one body so value it. The gym is only one way of exercising...when you feel well enough, you can be more active generally by walking, cycling, cleaning the car, sweeping the leaves, hoovering the carpet.....! (Your nearest and dearest will be most appreciative too).

As for those Halloween sweeties...maybe allow yourself just one a day?

Hope you feel better soon and hope all goes to plan with the graduation!

Hey there, I'm in that same place thats why I joined this group, as I need motivation and support, you are at the right place for this. Stay focused and keep your goals realistic too, then they are more achievable. Be positive and you will get there with the help of this group, they are very supportive here, good luck though x.

Hi, it is an up hill struggle at times particularly when your not well. We 'treat' ourselves because were not well etc. When it's probably this mindset that got is where we are now. No matter hiw small just try to attempt something positive/healthy, maybe a gentle stroll in the fresh air could help you refocus and think just got far you've come and what you've achieved. All this and your still trying to lose weight. Go you !
