I am new here trying to lose a stone in weight which I have really struggled with and hoping this site will give me some much needed motivation....

Hi Jennyb3011 - I too am trying to lose a stone.... I'm on week 2 and it's going very well! I've lost 3lb, but that might be beginner's "luck". Are you counting calories and exercising? It's a bore, but does work. Good luck to you.

Hi Ottomummy, Yea I started counting calories it is amazing, you don't really how much you actually eat until you have to record it all lol... I have some health issues so have to start the exercising very slowly but thanks and good luck to you too..

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS Forum. I'd like to wish you all the best with your goal to lose a stone in weight, and I hope the forum will give you some much needed motivation. Do read our Welcome Newbie post - it's in the Pinned posts area - right-hand-side of the homepage (or at the bottom if you're accessing via a mobile device).

Maybe join in some Challenges - and I'd recommend having a look at the NHS 12 week plan, it's easy to follow and really good - especially if you sign up for the weekly E-mail support.

Hi Lowcal, where do I find the challenges? sorry still trying to navigate my way around. I have joined the 12 week plan (only yesterday so today is 2nd day).

Hi Jenny,

The Challenges are found in the Pinned posts area - it should be on the right-hand-side of the homepage - but if you're using a mobile device, then they may be found at the bottom of the screen - so do look at the appropriate place and hopefully you'll find them ok.

The Monday group weigh-in is found in the Events section, which is below the Pinned posts.

Hope you'll be ok, finding your way around, but please don't hesitate to ask if you have any other things you're not sure about. There's always people around who can help you out - we've all been newbies at one time or another.

Recommended logging all your food and drink every day so you can see what your diet is really like; this keeps me on the straight and narrow.

The Monday weigh-ins are always very motivating 😊


same here I am trying to loose at least half a stone before November but finding really difficult working night shifts and also got flu after flu ja which is not helping!!!!!
