Just to say hello πŸ˜†

Just to say hello πŸ˜†

Have been alcohol free for 10 days and feel like my clothes fit better already!!

Need to start eating healthier and exercising more and am choosing a new bicycle this week. It's part of a cycle to work plan and as I only work 3 miles away I'm going for it!!

I also weighed myself (sob)πŸ˜’πŸ˜‚ but it needed to be done πŸ˜‰ so...I love FB so I'm going to try and keep this healthy journal type diary going too .

  • Hi Customer53,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. That's a lovely photo of yourself, you've posted. Congratulations on being alcohol free for 10 days. Great that you've already noticed that your clothes fit better.

Have you seen our Welcome Newbie post? It's in the Pinned posts area, which is on the right-hand-side of the homepage (or at the bottom if you're accessing via a mobile).

The NHS 12 week plan is really good - not sure what your weight loss goals are, but I'd like to wish you a great week ahead, and enjoy your exercise.

If you'd like to join us for the Monday group weigh-in, then please do - the post is in the Events section (below the Pinned posts), and the Afternoon/Evening thread is currently going on.

    Have a great week.

    Lowcal :-)

  • Thanks so much..I want to lose 2.5 stone..would be happy to drop 2 dress sizes...so it's really not out of my reach. I sort out healthy packed lunches for my family and need to sort myself!!! I work part time and my husband works nights so it can be difficult to sort evening meals but I'm putting together a shopping list and weekly menu...Having a Plan definitely works!

  • 10 days without alcohol is a fantastic achievement . That is so well done. I hope I can do that.

  • I'm doing it to raise funds for Macmillan...I drink in moderation but obviously more if stressed or socialising etc...it's surprising how often you reach for just a glass...the calories are massive !!! But it is tough lol !! Thanks so much for your positive comments πŸ˜‰

  • Thank you x Two social engagements tucked in there too which was difficult!! Am now the taxi service !!

  • I'm with you on the alcohol free - had nothing but two really, really small beers for a whole week- hubby poured me about 150ml! It's tough but when you feel the weight drop off, so worth it. Well done you.

  • Thanks so much ! I wish I'd weighed myself on the 1st day but didn't think about it until this last weekend !!

  • Well done! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

  • Thank you πŸ˜†

  • Are you doing stop October. πŸ˜‡

I am and same as you I have not had a drink for 10 days. It was becoming a bit of a habit and although I was eating healthy, counting calories and doing exercise I wasn't losing any weight. But in the the last 10 days I have lost 2.4lbs. Brill πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

I also feel so much better in myself.

I am going to stay alcohol free for the rest of the month and may even consider abstaining until I get to my ideal weight.

Time for a cup of tea

  • Good for you ...Yes I'm trying to raise funds for Macmillan...it's surprising how easy the drinks go down!! I've had an engagement party to attend and a family meal out too πŸ˜’πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†The calories are so high !!

  • Ooooh now that's an idea Teric, but I have a micro brewery beer tasting on Friday.... might just lick them!
