Hello, newbie here

DeborahDuckworth profile image

Hi my name is Deb, I've been trying to lose weight for decades! Tried every thing, but only managed to comfort eat myself to new highs, or lows if you take it that way. I'm turning a new leaf, it's Autumn so it might be the right leaf this time. Wish me luck. X

Hi Deb, just remember....the rest of your life starts today; don't look back, just forwards. Choose your food wisely, keep track using an online calorie counter if it helps, plan some activity into your day (be it sport or housework) and focus on a new you for Christmas! You can do it.

Good luck. Starting is the hardest part. Aim to just make healthier choices to start and find some exercise that you like. Cutting junk food and alcohol is an easy way to start as you can still fill up on nourishing meals. All the best!

Hi Deb, welcome! I`m now in my 4 week, had up and downs, so many times I`ve been ready to give up, not losing weight some weeks was demotivating BUT I`m still sticking at it, , it took years to put it on so will take a while to lose it, don`t beat yourself up with the down moments, you are a working progress, which means you will get there a little at a time and not all at once!!

you can do it !!!

Hi Deb. You've come to the best place for support and tips. Don't look on it as weight loss; make it about healthy foods that fit into your lifestyle. Use a calorie counter to help you choose best foods and work out portion sizes. I found that I was eating more than I needed but have felt much better since having smaller portions 😊. Also try and put some exercise or activity in your day. Most of all enjoy and good luck 😊.

Good luck Debs if you can cut out bread and potatoes and replace with loads of fruit and veg it makes a massive difference well it's worked for me and my brother anyway. Calorie reduction is the answer though whichever way you do it x
