HI Melanne,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. It's probably worth discussing your sudden rise in BP with your GP, to be on the safe side.

Are you looking to lose weight? I would recommend reading our Welcome Newbie post, which is in the Pinned posts area (right-hand-side of the homepage), and joining in with things in the forum.

Wishing you a good week.

Lowcal :-)

Hello! I'm vegetarian too. I think the nhs 12 plan is very good. The myfitnesspal ap is also great for helping you to keep track of counting calories (or you can use the calorie counter on the nhs website).

Good luck with shifting the pounds. I am sure that the gardening and pilates are also helping you to keep fit.

Good morning Melanne, I have just come across your post and felt I must contact you. I am also 75, a vegetarian and have BP for the first time. I joined this forum September and have found it quite inspirational but I haven't posted as I haven't felt I have a lot to contribute. I hope that you are managing to get your BP under control and maybe losing a little weight. You sound as if you keep active, I expect like me, you are leaving the running to the young ones!
