Newbie but want to change my lifestyle

So this is my first time posting on this site, I have decided that from 25th September 2016 I will start making the changes needed in my life to not only lose weight but eat a more balanced diet. I will be starting by changing my tea with 2 sugars to drinking tea with no sugar. I will be increasing my water intake to replace fizzy drinks and finally my food will be planned and home cooked. Putting this down in writing sounds ambitious all in one go, but it has to be done.

One thing I'm not sure about is what or where I go for weekly weigh ins here?

Weekly weighs are run by Lowcal, you'll see her post about 6am tomm, and reply back to her post, with your starting weight, loss or gain, there is also an afternoon post too, due to the sheer volume of posts!

Good luck on your journey

Hello and welcome Hidden 😊

Have you signed up for the 12 week plan? Many people on here use it, and you get weekly emails that help keep you on track 😊

Also check your BMR which will give you a calorie target range, often more than you think, because it's important to eat enough 😊

Good luck and best wishes 😊

Thank you for your reply, I have signed up for the 12 week plan but I do need to check my BMR which I will do next 😊

Lots of evidence suggests eating too little is counter productive 😊 And anyway, don't we all want to eat as much as we can and still lose weight?? 😊😊😊

If you're on the upper cusp of ideal weight, it doesn't tell you your calorie allowance. That's a shame for people wanting to lose a little weight. Also, even if you are overweight, it gives a rather large range for your calorie allowance. My fitness pal app gives you one estimated number, which seems better. How can you work with numbers that have a 500 calorie range?
