Store cupboard diner Rustic Chicken and Veg Soup with Garlic and Herb Crutons.

Well I haven't been to the supermarket today so decided I would cook from what is left in my cupboard.

It was basically chicken soup with vegatables that needed to be used up.

Mr T really enjoyed it and so did I. Very filling.

Nothing to throw away before supermarket visit tomorrow - even better. ☺

As a treat for afters we had homemade scones with fresh cream and strawberry jam Opps. 😯

Hi TrulyPlumptious,

You did really well to cook from your left-overs and come up with such a lovely meal as this - it looks really great, and nutritious and filling. Beautiful plate with swirly edges too - makes it look really appetising. Glad Mr T enjoyed it too.

I've already spied your delicious scones with fresh cream and strawberry jam too, but I'll pop back and have another look - they look so scrummy.

Lowcal :-)

Oh thanks Lowcal 😉 I like to blend my soups down but Mr T wanted it rustic.

I have a soup maker which now the cold weather is coming I will have to retrieve from the back of the cupboard.

If you've never used one they are great. Put all ingredients in set the timer 20 min's set either smooth or rustic then you have time for a shower (if you want) and all cooked piping hot when you come downstairs.

The scone was only the second treat this week and you have to trial your baking dont you.

The other treat was a mini Snickers earlier in the week.

I have kept within my calorie allowance.👍

Thank you Caz it was first soup of the year. I do like making soup.

This visit to the supermarket will be meat I can do in the slow cooker. Braised steak stew meat etc and plenty of veg.

I have a couple of menus from posts this week I want to try with salads.
