I tried this plan about 6 months ago and I have to say I was surprised how easy it was initially. But as the weeks went on I was going over my calorie limit again and again. I gave up!!! But more overweight than ever and I desperately need to change my relationship with food. So here goes.....week one πŸ™ˆ

Good luck on your journey..... I'm finding it easy at the moment only on week 4 expect to have some blips along the way but hopefully I will be strong enough to get back on track..... so if those days come again for you just think you can't undo what's done but you can control what your doing next ☺ all the best

Also some suggestions you may have already done: Think about what triggers going over the calorie limit and how you could plan things differently. Don't judge yourself, analyse as if someone else did it and try again. Maybe write down a note about why you want to get healthier and put it somewhere you can see to motivate you?

Yes, I agree with this πŸ˜• Try to decide why you slip up, think about your relationship with food, and get your head in the right place 😊 Then, like Seuzan suggests, even if we do have a bad day, try to not give up entirely but get back to plan the next day 😊 Very best wishes

I have just had a spectacular fall off the wagon as it is my birthday week - oh dear, I am dreading the Monday weigh in now but will try to mitigate my excesses in the next few days.

I think the trick is to just get back on it every time you slip up and hopefully the slips become less and less.

Great that you are back and sorting yourself out. I am picking myself back up also with you! Onwards....

I have reached a bit of a plateau but I have started giving myself treats which means it's not all feeling like hard work. I am enjoying the positive comments I am enjoying be able to buy smaller clothes but most of all I am really enjoying batch feeling healthy and not tired all the time anymore! IAt 62 I never thought this could happen. Remember you are doing this for your own benefit. You owe it to yourself. It's like smoking you give it up and then start again but eventually you say enough is enough and give up for good. The same with over eating as this eventually makes you unwell. It has to be an ongoing thing. Keep it fun and positive. I know it's not easy sometimes though . Good luck πŸ†

I remember being told when problem body is in a plateau your not losing lbs &ozs but your body is toning and reshaping for the next leg of your plan x

Thank you for that encouragement I am biting the bucket and joining a gym with a pool today as a new way to try and sort myself out I appreciate your advice and support x

Wishing you the best for this time around. I had a total blip on week 5 and ended up just not filling my calories in each day. I did okay the first few weeks because I thought I just needed to cut down my portion sizes and it would be fine! However this week I have decided to look at changing some of the foods I eat. I love burgers but they are quite high calorie and also a comfort food for me. Have discovered that I can make burger patties out of quinoa and add peppers etc to give it flavour. A few less calories but still satisfying cravings for 'solid food' if you know what I mean :-)

I know exactly how you're feeling. When I joined Slimming World I was around 17 stone 2. I stopped going and put it all back on and actually ended up at 18 stone 6, horrendous. I'm on week two and I've lost 3lb. My problem, as like most of us ladies seems to be keeping it OFF!

Please don't beat yourself up about this. It is how we learn. How we get stronger. If success was easy then no-one would have a problem in the first place.

You need to sit down and be totally honest with yourself. Try and figure out why you overeat in the first place. It's not just because you like food or that you're bored. There will be something else making you turn to food when you're not hungry. Now you can figure this out while you are losing weight but make sure you figure it out and then deal with it as, even if you get to the perfect figure, if you haven't dealt with the 'reason', then the reason will still be there at the end and you will then turn back to your old self when the pressure is on.

Only aim to lose a1lb a week. Take 4 weeks off a year for holidays, birthdays etc. Doesn't sound a lot but that could be 48lbs a year and that would be amazing. It has taken you your whole life to get you to this point today, so don't expect it to change overnight. This is a long slow process of changing habits and mindset.

One other thing, if you can then exercise. I am not talking about military 'train till your sick' exercise but exercise like faster than normal walking. So long as you can hear your breath and still hold a conversation then you will be going fast enough.

Hopefully in a short while you'll be one of the 'losers' here having shed some weight and you can proudly stand up and shout, 'I am a loser'. I've lost over 150lbs so I am one hell of a loser and the ladies in my local group are all doing great. Watch motivational programmes on tv and youtube and listen to motivational speeches. They really can change your attitude to doing things.
