No more excuses !!🌻🌺

I have no excuse for how much I weigh and how unfit I am . I have lost weight in the past and got really fit .So what's stopping me now.... Absolutely nothing apart from laziness and lack of will power . I have two bikes (mountain and road bike ) .The road bike I got at the weekend because my mountain bike too heavy for on the road bike rides .The road bike is amazingly fast but still need to walk up big hills lol . I have a rowing machine in spare room .The best thing is I have a gorgeous golden retriever who would love more walks .

So this week so far I have walked every day (5-6 miles ) according to fit bit. Done ten miles on my bike and rowed five miles .I feel great πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

I work as a nanny so I'm on the go all day which is great .🌻🌺

I have asthma and for the last three years have been taking steroids and antibiotics(on and off ) for chest infections so not been feeling at my best 😞 That's why I have put weight on as have been not well enough to do stuff . Steroids and lack of exercise are a disaster .I had Pnumonia earlier this year too . In the last three years I have been rushed to A&E having ashma attacks .I seem to have a permenant chesty cough which I've had for the three years and won't go . However I was in oz for three weeks hardly used inhalers and cough almost cleared up .Home for a week back on steroids and antibiotics lol

So I've decided to get fit and lose weight even if it kills me . I reckon that if I go for it on days I feel great and do a little on days I'm not good I should get fit soon and be able to ditch all the steroids and cut back on inhalers again .I aim to be as fit as I was three years ago very soon .

As I said no excuses anymore I'm in charge !! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸŒ»πŸπŸŒΊ

Hi and welcome 2412 :)

It sounds as if you're really in the zone now, so well done you :)

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.

Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the monday group weigh-in. If you follow Zest , you'll be notified when she posts the thread. However, the latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration :)

Wishing you all the very best :)

Go to the home page (the one with the strawberries on it) and on the right hand side, beneath the Pinned Posts, is the Events section.

If you're using a mobile, you need to scroll right down to the bottom of the screen and you'll find it :)

If it's the monday group weigh-in that you're looking for, here's the link

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

If it's the re-boot challenge you're looking for, here's that link

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I hope this helps, feelgood41, but if not, shout again :)

AMEN TO THIS! I'm in absolutely the same boat. I have health problems due to my weight / lack of fitness. I look back 7 years and I could run 2k easily, now I get tired out walking down the road *sigh*. I know 2k isn't the longest distance but the point is my fitness has gone downhill. I actually like running / trampolining but I keep making excuses not to do it.

I keep "dieting" (e.g. eating a salad then telling myself I deserve an ice-cream sundae for being good) a few days at a time then giving up and moaning that I didn't lose weight. It's ridiculous really. Time to take responsibility for myself I think!

Hi

I so glad I'm not the only one .

I've always been active all my life and to be like this is awful .

I hate feeling like this so really need to take control .Its only me who can fix it . Too many Monday's starting diet and fitness challenge 😞😞🌺 Usually ended by Wednesday .

I so want to get back to being fit again .Also have clothes in wardrobe I'd like to wear again ,But honesty it for my health mostly . I reckon if I could get back to how I was four years ago I could stop most of my medication .

I'm like you can't live on salads and reward myself with food treats when have a loss . Should buy a nail varnish instead .You should have a look at slimming word recipes and my fitness pal app . They helped me lose before I went to Oz . But I got Pnumonia .I know no excuse for putting on weight but steroids made me so hungry. Weak again lol .I put most of it back on before I got on plane lol . I plan to be fit and healthy for next trip out xmas 2017 . Going back to see my family .

My willpower has been weak but can't go on like this it's depressing . Ideally I'd like to lose two stone which gets me back at a Healthy weight and allows me to be fit and active again .also my bmi will be back in healthy range .

Hope you reach your goal and get back to how you felt before

Keep in touch 🌺🌻

2 stone is definitely do able! I have 8 stone to lose and so far I've lost one pound :P I did this plan before and lost 6 pounds in 12 weeks but I think I can do better so I'm starting again. I've been easing myself back into healthier eating this week with a plan to start properly (calorie counting and exercising enough) on Monday.

I also put on weight due to health problems so I do understand your frustrations!

Good luck

Hi 2412 and welcome to the forum. I read your post with interest as I definitely empathise with the Monday to Wednesday diet. The trick with the 12 week plan is to establish hoiw many calories you can have and still lose weight. You can use the NHS bmi checker to do this. Then do your sums or buy something to do it for you and work out your meals. No food is off limits so don't punish yourself. Folk here are very creative in getting the most out of their calories. What I'm trying to say to you, in a long winded way, is that you can have that glass of wine or bar of chocolate but include it in your daily intake. Hopefully an interesting selection of food will keep you motivated. Good luck. Xx

This My Fitness Pal app. Can you use it with a Blackberry mobile or is it all on computer?

Hi loser 2142

Good attitude there. Am liking this. Not letting health issues get in the way of where you want to be. Not allowing health to dictate to you why you cannot do something but accepting that on some days you'll not be as strong as you want to be and on others you'll be as strong as an ox......

We all have our reasons for wanting to lose the weight. For some it's just to fit into nice clothes, others it's to literally survive. To be able to live an as normal life as they possibly can.

Good luck and 'Carry On''
